Internal fraud in value storage and transfer is a major problem. Due to longer opening hours of shops, different staff members have to use the safe. Internal theft from a safe occurs regularly. In many cases, the perpetrator is authorised to use the safe, possesses the keys and/or codes to the rooms and comes into daily contact with money or goods. Besides the direct financial damage, internal fraud also causes a lot of indirect damage such as unrest on the shop floor when the culprit cannot be identified. Many companies simply do not report it to avoid damage to their image.
To prevent these problems, Van den Hoven has developed three new products that minimise the risk of fraud. Staff no longer come into contact with the value, all actions are recorded and the safe forces staff to work with clear procedures. With these safes, the transfer of value can be streamlined, saving significantly on cash and/or valuables transport. As the value carrier can collect the value without the intervention of a branch employee, this can be done more safely, at lower cost and at any time of the day.
All three safes use RFID registration. The safes are designed for different logistics requirements. The RFID Deposit Safe is only used when collecting or delivering value. The RFID Transito Disposal Safe is used when return money is also required with less value, such as coins and the like. The RFID Transito Safe is used when all incoming and outgoing value needs to be registered.
For the situation where the cash carrier only brings or retrieves value, there is the RFID Deposit Safe. This is a burglary-proof safe with a deposit drawer. Sealbags with RFID chip are deposited through the drawer in the safe where an antenna registers all sealbags. A connected computer stores all relevant data such as date, time and sealbag number. With every deposit, a receipt is printed or a confirmation is sent by e-mail. The safe and tray are available in various sizes and value indications.
If the cash carrier also needs to deposit value such as coins, there is the RFID Transito Deposit Safe. This is a burglary-resistant safe with two doors and a deposit drawer. Both doors are fitted with an electronic code lock that can be used by several people using a code. All openings are recorded with time and date. Using the deposit drawer, the value can be deposited in the safe.
Compartmentalisation makes it impossible for branch employees to access the value. Value brought by the value carrier (e.g. coins) is behind the first door. The second door gives the value transporter access to both compartments. It is recommended that this door opens into a secure area so that the security carrier can pick up and deliver the value undisturbed. The safe is available in various sizes (corner unit or door on both sides) and can be built for any cover indication.
When the security carrier brings and retrieves sealbags, or when several people can access the safe's contents, the RFID Transito Safe is a solution. This is a burglary-resistant safe with two doors and works as a pass-through hatch. The sealbags of value are placed in the safe and are continuously registered by the RFID antenna. After handing over or taking out a seal bag, a receipt can be printed out or a confirmation is sent by e-mail. Due to compartmentalisation, the value cannot be retrieved by the same user.
