There is another important thing to consider if you want to buy a fire safe. There are different standards to test fire safes for fire resistance. Before a fire safe is certified, it is subjected to a number of tests. For instance, the safe is placed in an oven for 30, 60 or 120 minutes in which the temperature rises to high values. During this test, the temperature inside the safe may not exceed the critical value. There are also requirements for humidity. The testing of safes is mainly done according to the European standard.
